At least nine loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed and seven other injured by the Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers during a clearance operation in eastern Nangarhar province.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement said that the operations were conducted in Bati Kot district of Nangarhar by the Afghan armed forces, reports the Khaama Press.
No reports regarding the casualties of the Afghan soldiers were revealed.
It is believed that the loyalists of the terror group have significant presence in some parts of eastern Nangarhar province.
Meanwhile, the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) are regularly targeting the loyalists of the terror group together with the US forces in Afghanistan.
