The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar Government has decided to rename the Kishanganj Agriculture University after former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
Paying his tribute to the former president, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar tweeted that the Kishanganj University would be renamed as 'Dr. Kalam Agriculture University'.
Kalam, 83, passed away in Shillong yesterday after he was admitted to a hospital in the city.
The former president collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management. He was in a critical condition and had been admitted to the city's Bethany Hospital.
Kalam served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.
