The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday told the Delhi High Court that no changes can be made to the electoral rolls now, as the final date of nominations for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections has passed.

"We have not been served any notice by petitioner (Kiran Walia) till now, can't post reply. No changes can be made to electoral rolls now as final date of nominations is over," the Election Commission said.

The Delhi High Court had earlier on Monday issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and the Election Commission, acting on the plea of Congress leader Kiran Walia.

Walia had last month filed a complaint with the EC, questioning the legality of Kejriwal's candidature. When the commission refused to entertain Walia's complaint, she threatened to file a plea in the High Court.

The BJP had also demanded the cancellation of Kejriwal's nomination and had filed a complaint against the former Delhi chief minister for allegedly violating the model code of conduct.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10. The last day of campaigning is February 5.
