Hours after an assistant professor of the Jawaharlal Nehru University's (JNU) car was vandalised by an unknown person and stones were pelted at his house for condoling Sukma and Kupwara killing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader and former joint secretary of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) Saurabh Sharma said no kind of condemnation by the current JNUSU and Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers' Association (JNUTA) indicate secret support to naxalism and terrorism.
"In the intervening night of April 28 and 29, one of our faculty members Dr. Buddha Singh's car was vandalized by some miscreants. The car was parked at his residence. After this shameful act there is no kind of condemnation by current JNUSU and JNUTA which is clear indication about secret support to naxalism and terrorism. I demand to JNU administration a proper investigation enquiry about it," Sharma said in a statement.
He further said that the incidence happened the evening after Singh and the students organized a condolence meeting for Sukma and Kupwara bravehearts.
"I would also like to emphasize the fact that JNU, being a premier institute in the country, strongly supports unity and integrity of the nation. A heinous act like this cannot defame JNU or its fame for research and education of the highest quality," he added.
Sharma said that he was surprised by the silence of the JNUTA on this incidence that is not only directed to one of the JNU faculty, but also threatened the security of the faculties' family.
"Dr Buddha Singh told that this event is the reward of conducting condolence meeting for Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Vandalizing car and pelting stone on his home is a cowardice and shameful act. A complaint has been registered against the anonymous person at Vasant Kunj Police Station," he added.

He also demanded for installation of CCTV cameras in the campus premises.
"A strong action should be taken against this shameful and cowardice act," Sharma said.
Professor Singh who teaches Computer Science at JNU, on Saturday posted pictures of his car and claimed that he was 'rewarded' for organising a condolence meeting for CRPF personnel killed by Maoists in Sukma.
The condolence meet was held at the JNU's Sabarmati Dhaba.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR under Section 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Vasant Kunj Police Station and an investigation is currently underway in this regard.
