Disappointed by the cancellation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad, a senior editor of the Jang newspaper, Saleh Zafar, and a journalist of Aaj TV, Mushtaq Minhas, said here on Thursday that it is not a good omen.
Saleh Zafar said, "Both the prime ministers decided that they will meet in New York. Now, they are not meeting, this is not a good omen. India and Pakistan should initiate talks and I believe that a scope of such interaction between both the prime ministers will arise. But, as of now, since they are not meeting, it is not a good thing rather an issue of disappointment."
"Both the prime ministers should meet but it's unfortunate that they are not meeting. There is emotion in Pakistan that we should meet India because India is our neighbour. But now the people of both the countries are disappointed since they are not meeting," said Mushtaq Minhas.
After the Pakistan High Commissioner held parleys with Kashmiri separatist leaders in New Delhi, India had earlier cancelled the Foreign Secretary-level talks that were scheduled to be held in Islamabad on August 25 between two countries.
