The meteorological department in Himachal Pradesh has issued warnings for heavy rainfall.
Director of Meteorological Department in Himachal Pradesh, Manmohan Singh, said four to five areas of the province will receive heavy rainfall, while other regions will have scattered rains.
The department informed areas like Sirmaur, Una, Mandi, Kullu, Hamirpur and Bilaspur had received 100 to 145 mm rainfall.
The state's capital Shimla also received fresh rainfall and expected active monsoon after July 23 in the state.
"Heavy rain warnings are given to Mandi, Una, Bilaspur, Sirmaur and these four five areas have the possibility of heavy rain other areas will witness only isolated or scattered rainfall," said Singh.
India experiences monsoons from June to September, vital for its agriculture. Rains are vital to India's farm sector, which accounts for about 14 percent of the country's nearly $2 trillion economy. Two-thirds of its 1.2 billion population live in rural areas.

However, the rain this year in the state is low as compared to the normal level. Poor rains since the start of the June-September season had raised concerns that India would face its first drought in five years with coverage for most of the main crops slipping below their half way marks.
The predicted wet run in monsoon should improve the level of water in reservoirs that is important for drinking purposes, hydro power generation and irrigation.
