Touting itself as an "Uber for real life dates," iOS dating app Rendeevoo eliminates the chat element from online dating and instead, cuts straight to cocktails.

Co-founder George Christoforakis, who came up with the idea for the app back in pre-Tinder era, said that the app was conceived with a vision to allow people to enjoy their real life instead of wasting time in front of their screens chatting with others asynchronously, which he realized was an obstacle to those who preferred to know someone in person, reported TechCrunch.

Users of the app can browse profiles and when they like the look and description of a prospective date, they can place "an order," just like they do while checking-out on an e-commerce website, by choosing a venue and timing for the date to take place and then paying for it. The payment goes towards buying one cocktail at one of the handful of East London bars that Rendeevoo has partnered with so far.

The prospective date too, has to pay for their cocktail to confirm the date. The transactions are processed only if both the parties confirm. It is also possible to cancel a date up to 30 minutes before the scheduled time without paying a fine.

The U.K.-based startup authenticates users through their Facebook profiles and they also have to provide their card details to pay for drinks. This, Christoforakis claimed, helped in ensuring that users were not catfished or spammed, something that is "common" on other dating platforms.

The app launched in April 2014 but released in beta last month.
