Jins eyewear, Tokyo, has created new smartphone linked eyewear 'Jin Meme Glasses' that can track and tell if a person is alert or not by calculating eye and gazing movements.

The glasses can measure fatigue and concentration levels caused by looking at computers for a long time and can also alert the drivers about dangerous situations if they are not alert enough, PC World reported.

They contain small metallic electrooculography (EOG) sensors in the bridge, nose pads and the bars that rest on the ears that measure the electrical potential in eye movements.

The product weighs about 36 grams and also contains a three-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, which also allows tracking down steps walked and calories burned.

Meme is planned to be launched in spring 2015 in Japan but overseas sale plans have not been yet decided.
