A new device called "Target Blu-Eye" has been developed that allows drivers to spot police cars over half a mile away.

And even though many want it banned, it's currently completely legal in the UK, the Daily Star reported.

The 999 euro gadget searches for TETRA radio signals which are used by all of the UK's emergency services and could even warn motorists of unmarked cars and police helicopters.

The makers of the device claim it's been designed to prevent accidents, by alerting drivers to emergency vehicles dashing to incidents.

Gwent Police Crime Commissioner, Ian Johnston, told to the Mail, that the device was a passport to villainy and there should be no legitimate reason for a law-abiding person to have one.
