National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat here today following his visit at the Burdwan blast site where he assessed the progress of the investigation.
Earlier, Doval and his team flew in to Burdwan by a chopper from the NSC Bose International Airport. They had reached Kolkata in a special aircraft this morning.
The Burdwan blast took place on October 2, in which two suspected terrorists belonging to the Jamaat Ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JUB) were killed.
The National Security Advisor's visit comes in the backdrop of an on-the-spot assessment carried out by National Investigation Agency Director General Sharad Kumar last Friday.
The Union Home Ministry had handed over the probe of the case to the NIA considering its international ramifications.
