Demanding the rollback of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), NSUI members staged a protest in front of HRD Minister Smriti Irani's residence today.
"NSUI is demanding the rollback of the FYUP for a month. We want Smriti Irani to come out and discuss our issues. We want this four year programme to be taken back as soon as possible," said Mohit Sharma, national general secretary, NSUI.
The FYUP has been a bone of contention ever since it was implemented in the Delhi University.
There have been constant demands by the Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) and the student bodies to roll it back. The new HRD Minister Smriti Irani is reportedly mulling it's rollback.
