New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell has left for a one-week visit to India to promote trade and investment opportunities in the state.
During the visit, O'Farrell will be meeting senior government representatives and business leaders in Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
He will be holding talks focusing on the infrastructure, education, financial services and tourism sectors, news.com.au reports.
India is NSW's second largest source of international students, with almost 11,300 Indian student enrolments in 2012.
O'Farrell said that he was looking forward to returning to India to build on the strong relationship between NSW and India, which is a priority market for his state.
He added that during his visit he would reinforce his message that NSW is open and ready for business.
In his third official visit to India, O'Farrell will also meet the Chief Minister of Maharashtra State to discuss the next stages of the NSW-Maharashtra sister-state memorandum of understanding, the report added.
