New Zealand Cricket (NZC) World Cup boss has called for making match-fixing a criminal offence before the 2015 tournament.
Sports Minister Murray McCully had discussed plans at length last week to get elite sports monitored by nine government agencies, Stuff.co.nz reports.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is reportedly investigating into three former Black Caps on allegations of match-fixing.
The statement came as New Zealand is co-hosting the sport's global one-day tournament with Australia opening in February, 2015, and pressure will mount on cup organizers to maintain the integrity of cricket association.
