President Barack Obama has said the Russia-Ukraine crisis 'is not another cold war we are entering'.
According to Politico, Obama has cast the international community's efforts to support Ukraine amid Russian intervention.
Delivering the major speech of his weeklong trip across the Atlantic, Obama offered his most extensive justification for Western involvement in the Ukraine conflict.
He also used the speech to stress the importance of the U.S.-European relationship amid continued threats around the world.
The president said neither the United States nor Europe has any interest in controlling Ukraine, adding that this is not another Cold War that we're entering into.
He added unlike the Soviet Union, Russia leads no bloc of nations, no global ideology. Nor does the United States, or NATO, seek any conflict with Russia.
He also warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions showed hints of 'the darker forces of the past' and could send the wrong message to leaders all around the world, the report added.
