Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that price rise is a national issue and is not just concerned with his state. He hoped that the centre will take some effective steps to curb it.
Earlier today, in his meeting with Union Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Abdullah placed in front of him the difficulties that Jammu and Kashmir is facing in regard to the implementation of Food Security Act.
Abdullah said, "The meeting was especially in regard to the reduction in number of people that we can cover. We have asked minister to take sympathetic view of the situation. He has assured us that it is a matter of government consideration. So we are hoping that something will come up in our favor."
"At the moment we are not committing ourselves to any dates for the roll out of the Food Security Act. It actually puts me at the disadvantage in the terms of amount of ration that I can supply to people," he added.
