Gujarat Governor OP Kohli on Friday attended special prayers held for Mahatma Gandhi on his 67th death anniversary at the Sabarmati ashram here.
The prayers were led by priests of different religions. Another such all-religion prayer meeting has been organised at Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi.
Gujarat is paying rich tributes to the Father of the Nation on his death anniversary as the entire state will observe two minutes silence at 11 a.m.
Prominent leaders from various political parties and other dignitaries have also paid floral tributes at Raj Ghat in New Delhi.
On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting.
