Once a Naxal-hit area, Palnar village in Dantewada district has become the "first cashless village" in Chhattisgarh.
Cashless shopping complex, milk ATM, along with Animal husbandry, soon to be a reality here, with Chief Minister Raman Singh is all set to lay the foundation stone and provide Rs. 50 crore for the development works here on Saturday. The district administration and police are working tirelessly to make the event a success.
Under the Digital India scheme, the region is all set to become free wi-fi zone and the shopping complex will have point-of-sale (POS) machines across the village.
The region will also have health ATMs, where patients will get treatment by city doctors via internet interaction. Apart from these, there will be e-classes and e-libraries for the village students.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in view of the Chief Minister's visit here on Saturday. A three layered security cover has been put in place.
As many as 10 anti-landmine vehicles and bomb disposable squads have been deployed. Every vehicle passing through the region is being checked. Helicopters will hover over the region to conduct security surveillance of the region.
