Sony Pictures has revealed plans to release a Spider-man film starring every single year until at least 2017, including two actual sequels to 2012's 'The Amazing Spider-man'.
The action will kick off with The Amazing Spider-man 2, which is due for UK release on April 18, followed by 2015's The Sinister Six - which will no doubt feature the character battling the Marvel Comics supervillain team, according to Variety.
The third movie in the Amazing Spider-Man series will follow in 2016, with plans for another one of the character's adversaries, Venom - last seen in 2007's Spider-man 3 - to feature in his own standalone movie in 2017.
Sony's co-chair Amy Pascal confirmed the news, saying that they are expanding the Spider-Man universe into the Sinister Six and Venom, so that we have Spider-Man movies every year.
The 'Amazing Spider-man 2' will once again see Andrew Garfield reprise the role of Peter Parker and his superhuman alter ego, with Emma Stone returning as Gwen Stacy.
