Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday rubbished allegations of adopting irregularities in the sale of onions and alleged that attempts were being made to defame the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Delhi.
Sisodia presented documents showing that the AAP Government procured onions from central agencies like National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (Nafed) and Small Farmer Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) at Rs 32.8 per kg.
He added that the cost escalated to Rs 40 per kg due to transportation expenses.
Sisodia further said the AAP Government then imposed a subsidy of Rs. 10 and the onions were sold at Rs. 30 per kg.
