Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that only if there is national unity on the issue of countering terrorism in all of its forms, could the ongoing military operation 'Zarb-i-Azb' succeed.
"A peaceful environment in the country would benefit the soldiers fighting in the North Waziristan tribal area," the Dawn quoted Sharif, as saying during a meeting with the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leadership here.
He said he was confident about the militants losing this war to establish their dominance.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif's briefing on the Lahore Model Town tragedy was also discussed.
The chief minister instructed the attendees not to compromise on justice.
During the meeting, it was expected that the names of those responsible for carrying out orders to open fire at the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters would be disclosed, but no such details emerged.
