Looks like BBC has missed out something big as their comprehensive new poll of the 100 Greatest American Films of all time did not include some of the deserving movies.
The list included only 12 Academy Award winning Best Pictures and only 8 of them in the top 75. Even worse, 60 Academy's Best Picture choices were not even nominated for the list, reported the Deadline.
'Gone With The Wind,' which is considered the benchmark of all Oscar winning Best Pictures, barely made the list at number 97, just one notch above 'Heaven's Gate,' the 1980 western that was a notorious disaster at the time.
The jury of the poll included 62 international film critics, who ignored some evergreen movies like 'Lawrence Of Arabia,' 'The Bridge On The River Kwai,' 'Gandhi' and favoured directors that were not even born in US.
First on the list was Orson Welles' 'Citizen Kane' followed by 'The Godfather' and and 'Vertigo.
