Bandana Kumari, who was elected as the Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly on Monday, said there should definitely be a Leader of Opposition in the house.
"Opposition plays a major role and their concerns will be put forth in an unbiased manner. There should definitely be a Leader of Opposition," she told ANI here.
Kumari is the president of the women's wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
An MLA from Shalimar Bagh constituency, Kumari was elected in the 2013 Assembly polls as well. In the recent Delhi polls, she defeated the Bharatiya Janata Party's Rekha Gupta by a margin of 10,978 votes.
Meanwhile, AAP's Shahdara MLA Ram Niwas Goyal was unanimously elected as the Speaker .
Goyal defeated BJP's Jitender Singh Shunty by a margin of over 11,000 votes in the recent polls.
