Opposition parties have attacked the Trinamool Congress Government in West Bengal over the gruesome murder of a college student in North 24 Parganas.
"You just go and ask the parents, what is his political identity. We hate the culture of politics of dead bodies. Just see the desperation that a boy has been chopped into nine pieces. There is total absence of law and order as police is acting as a tool of Trinamool Congress," Samik Bhattacharya, BJP leader said.
"There is complete chaos, lawlessness, Not only he was brutally murdered, his crime was that he was protesting against anti-social activities; the anti-socials are reigning supreme," Ritabrata Banerjee, CPIM leader said.
Standing up against criminal activities in his area cost a second year college student his life, forcing enraged locals to stage vociferous protests and block roads and rail lines.
Twenty-year-old Sourav Choudhury was reportedly abducted by some assailants on Friday night and later hacked to death.
On Saturday morning, the locals passing through the area discovered his severed body parts, which had been lying near the railway tracks.
