Red Sox slugger David Ortiz and his marketing manager have reportedly said that the selfie taken at the White House with President Barack Obama was not a marketing strategy.
Ortiz stressed that the selfie was spontaneous and was certainly not a part of the deal.
According to Mashable, Samsung hired Ortiz to be its "social media insider" on April 1.
Meanwhile, Alex Radetsky, president and founder of Radegen Sports Management, the marketing firm that has represented Ortiz for 12 years, said that the deal doesn't require Ortiz to snap selfies with the President or anyone else, the report added.
