Paralympics runner Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of murder after South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeals overturned his previous conviction for culpable homicide in the killing of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Earlier in October, the double-amputee athlete was released on parole and placed under house arrest after serving less than a year in prison. However, Pistorius will now be handed a new sentence.
Judge Eric Leach, who declared the verdict, described the judgement delivered by the trial judge Thokozile Maspia as one filled with 'fundamental errors', Stuff.co.nz reported.
According to South African law, the minimum sentence for a murder conviction is 15 years in prison.
