A witness in Oscar Pistorius' murder case opened up about her ordeal of being a part of the criminal trial in a recently released research paper.

Stipp along with her husband, Johan, lives near Pistorius's former Pretoria home, where the murder had taken place last year.

The duo were asked to testify in the court and were quizzed on what they heard and saw on the morning Pistorius shot his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

According to Times Live, Stripp described testifying, and what followed, as "emotional, daunting and exhausting". She said she felt as if she were being personally attacked and was not sure that she would go through it again.

Stipp spoke about her experience in an interview for a research paper by Karen Tewson, head of court preparation at the National Prosecuting Authority.

The paper reveals that many witnesses and victims are traumatised and suffer secondary victimisation on the witness stand, often during gruelling cross-examination by the likes of Pistorius's advocate, Barry Roux, the report said.
