Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that the country will respond in a befitting manner if forced into a war by India.
While noting that "our arms are not meant for decoration," the minister said, "If need be, we will use them against India."
According to the Dawn, Asif dubbed the recent spate of provocative comments made by Indian ministers as a move aimed at distracting Pakistan from the war on terror. He also accused India of promoting terrorism in the Islamic Republic.
The defence minister said that Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had brought the recent hostile statements made by India to the United Nations' notice when he met Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Dushanbe.
