Seems like powerful painkillers have been one of the reasons behind pop-icon Prince's death, according to the revelation by his long-time drug dealer, known as Doctor D.
Doctor D recently claimed that the 'Purple Rain' singer was hooked on powerful opiates for more than 25 years, spending up to 40,000 dollars a time on six-month supplies, reports the Mirror.
He also claimed selling the popstar heroin-based Dilaudid to help him when he was coming down from the opiates.
According to sources, few days before his death in a lift at his Paisley Park home in Minneapolis on April 21, he overdosed on the opiate Percocet, which he had prescribed for a hip problem.
Reportedly, the pain killers are known to induce sleep however could have led to insomnia, especially if mixed with other medication, like Tylenol, whose overdose lead to Kidney problems.
On the other hand, the 'Little Red Corvette' hit-maker's brother in-law revealed that he "worked 154 hours straight" i.e more than six days before he died, reported News.com.au.
However, the exact cause of Prince's death is yet to be confirmed, with his publicist issuing a brief statement revealing the autopsy results would not be known for at least four weeks.
