Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly reassured injured midfielder Mesut Ozil that he is still central to his plans for the club's future in 'heart-to-heart' talks.

Ozil, who will miss important Premier League matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City, is targeting next months FA Cup semi-final against Wigan Athletic as a potential comeback date from his hamstring injury.

According to the Mirror, Ozil, who was signed by Arsenal for a record 42 million pounds from Real Madrid, was left struggling mentally after missing a penalty against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League due to a hamstring injury.

However, the report mentioned Wenger has talked with the German midfielder, encouraging him that he is important to the manager's long-term vision of the club and told him that his door is always open for him.

Wenger reportedly believes the demands of the Premier League would be easier for Ozil to handle next season, as the player has struggled at times to settle since his summer move from Real Madrid to Arsenal.
