Pacer James Pattinson has urged cricket fans to dress up like tigers for Australia's one-day clash against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to provide players with added motivation.
Pattinson, who is ready to pounce like a tiger at the MCG on Sunday, went to great lengths to encourage fans to get into the spirit and dress up.
He spent more than two hours being painted as a tiger for an exclusive Herald Sun photo shoot.
Pattinson further said that last year it was good to see people dressed up as an animal, or a super hero or cartoon character, and added that players also notice the different costumes that people are wearing in the crowd.
He said the costumes of Aussie fans in the stands could even be a secret weapon for the home team, and added if someone dressed is up like this in the crowd, that would give him an extra couple of yards in bowling speed.
News.com.au quoted him, as saying that a lot of players will be spurred on by the dresses worn by the crowd.
