Paes, Bopanna crash out of French Open men's doubles

Indian challenge in the men's doubles event of the French Open came to an end after Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna lost their respective quarterfinal games in straight sets here on Wednesday.

Sixth seeded pair of Bopanna and Romania's Florin Mergea were beaten 4-6, 4-6 by third seeded Croatian-Brazilian duo of Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo.

On the other hand, Indo-Polish combo of Paes and Marcin Matkowski produced a battling performance but went down 6-7 (14), 3-6 to fifth seeded American pair of Mile and Bob Bryan.

Meanwhile, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Croatian partner Dodig will clash against French pair of Alize Cornet-Jonathan Eysseric later in the day.
