The Pakistan Government has reportedly asked the army to be on a state of high alert in the national capital to possibly counter the 'Azadi March' of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the PTA should it turn violent.
According to the Dawn, Lt. Gen. Qamar Bajwa, the commander of the Pakistan Army's 10 Corps, has contacted senior Islamabad Police officials to coordinate security operations around key government installations located along Constitution Avenue.
Army troops have been deployed in Islamabad under Article 245 of the Constitution to prevent a political showdown.
Five army companies-over 500 soldiers - have reportedly been deployed.
