The Pakistan military has decided to join the investigations of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) into the November 2007 emergency rule imposed during the reign of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
Army's judge advocate general (JAG) would join the investigation team to assist in the case, the sources in FIA revealed.
The Nation reports that the FIA team wanted to have an access to the minutes of the meeting that was attended by then government and military officials before the promulgation of emergency.
According to the report, FIA team was also preparing the lists of those civilian bureaucrats who were appointed at key posts at the time of imposition of emergency to ascertain from where they were getting directions to implement the decisions.
FIA team headed by its Additional Director General Khalid Qureshi had written a letter to the Ministry of Interior requesting that the incumbent government and the army should be asked to appoint focal persons to probe the high profile case.
