Pakistan's spinning all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has expressed surprise over being reported for a suspect bowling action while taking part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on behalf of the Lahore Lions.

The 33-year-old, who is key to Pakistan's attack in their series against Australia starting in Dubai from Sunday, however, said he has no plans to alter his action

The report by on-field IPL umpires has no bearing on international cricket, but Pakistan coach Waqar Younis said it would "shatter" the all-rounder's confidence.

According to Sport24, Hafeez, however, said he was unfazed. He said that has played six major world events: two World Cups and three World Twenty20s and nobody had ever questioned his action in the last eleven years.

The International Cricket Council began a crackdown on illegal bowling actions in June, deciding to strictly enforce its 15 degree limit on elbow flex-the point where a kink becomes visible to the naked eye.

The ICC suspended Sri Lanka's Sachitra Senanayake and New Zealand's Kane Williamson before Saeed Ajmal, while three more international bowlers have been reported and now face testing.
