The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday summoned Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to convey its strong concern on continued ceasefire violations across the international border and Line of Control (LoC).
MEA official spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, "Despite calls from India for restraint, Pakistan forces have committed 16 ceasefire violations in the past week which led to three fatal casualties among security forces."
"Such loss of life and injury to civilians due to shelling is unacceptable and highly condemnable," he added.
The MEA also condemned the manner in which security of the Indian High Commission officials working in Islamabad were threatened by publishing their photographs in local newspapers.
The MEA also asked the neighboring country to stop such actions and ensure the safety and security of its diplomatic staff and their families.
