Pakistan's High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit on Wednesday refused to comment when asked about his reactions to the recent Pentagon report, which accuses the Islamic Republic of using militants as proxies against India.
He was attending the seventh South Asia Economic Summit, which is being attended by ministers, economists and the representatives of all South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.
"I have come here to attend a SAARC event, so let's keep our focus on that," said High Commissioner Basit to the media.
The Pentagon, in a report running into more than 100 pages, accused Islamabad of being a safe haven for terrorists targeting both India and Afghanistan and told the US Congress that Pakistan used these tactics to counter the superior Indian forces.
The Pentagon also accused Pakistan-based militants of bombing the Indian consulate in Herat in May, naming terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba as the culprits.
