A day after Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif hit out at India by saying that December's boat incident tore off "India's veil of being a peaceful country of the region," Pakistani Foreign Office (FO) spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam has now gone on record to say that the incident "was a drama that has now been exposed."

Aslam said that the contradictory statements issued by top Indian officials on the issue proved that the boat issue was a drama, reported the Dawn.

She added that Pakistan had clarified that none of its boats went missing as claimed by India.

The statements followed reports in Indian media that quoted DIG Coast Guard BK Loshali as admitting that he ordered a Pakistani boat to be blown up in the Arabian Sea on December 31, 2014.

The claim strongly contradicted New Delhi's official line in which it insisted that the boat had "suspected terror links" and that the crew blew the boat up and sank their vessel after trying to evade capture by the Indian navy in a high-speed chase at sea.

Coast Guard DIG B.K. Loshali later issued a rejoinder rejecting the media reports by saying that it was "not factual" and denied making any such statement.
