Pakistan team manager Moin Khan has advised Test and one-day captain Misbah-ul Haq to change his approach to captaincy, although he defended Misbah from calls calling for his removal from the post.
More than a partial confirmation has been ascertained regarding Misbah maintaining his captaincy at least for the series against South Africa and, to a certain extent, for the home assignment against Sri Lanka.
According to the Express Tribune, Moin agreed with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) caretaker chairman Najam Sethi that a change of guard is not necessary despite the Test loss in Zimbabwe, although he pointed out the weakness of Misbah, often dubbed as a defensive captain, in marshalling his troops.
The former captain, who led Pakistan in 13 Tests and 34 ODIs, partially agreed to the calls from former cricketers, and advised Misbah to change his captaincy approach, saying that the team needs only consistency and no changes.
However, the report mentioned that Misbah, who regained strength as captain with his remarkable individual performance this year, would not enjoy the same status in the forthcoming home series, with the PCB mulling other options for the role while starting on plans for the 2015 World Cup.
