"Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf had given similar formulas, but when it comes to implementation, Pakistanis themselves violate it," said Singh.
On Pakistan's proposal to demilitarise Kashmir and Siachen, Singh said they have no business to say this. "Our army is not the army of Pakistan, but it's the army of India, which is a democratic country. The role of our army is on the border, but when there is a war-like situation or whenever the civil government calls them, they assist the government in maintaining peace and order in the state," said the Deputy Chief Minister.
"Prime Minister Sharif said India and Pakistan should not resort to firing on the border. Let them stop it, because they are the violators and are killing our people," said Singh, adding that Pakistan, on the other hand, is giving the message to the international community that India is doing it, which is totally wrong and unacceptable, they must stop it.
He added that a unified command headed by the chief minister is in place to look into things, and the army is here not at their will, but we have invited them because we need their service.
