Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Chief Justice of Pakistan's apex court is set to retire after a 7-month term as the country's top judge.
The man nicknamed as 'the gentleman judge' will be leaving office in July 2014. Jillani's term will be credited with the adoption of the policy of 'judicial restraint'.
Also, the 65-year-old barely took suo moto action over financial irregularities in state institutions unlike former chief justice who picked up populist causes highlighted by the media and hauled ministers and government officials over corruption allegations, reported The Express Tribune.
Former vice chairman of Pakistan bar council (PBC) said that Jillani enjoyed a good relationship with the bars unlike his fireband predecessor Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
