After the Pakistani delegation at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) interrupted the Baloch Republican Party (BRP) representatives to speak on the issue of gross human rights violation with the Balochi people due to the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the international community on Thursday sidelined the former's request and asked the representatives to complete their statement.

"Since the agreement between China and Pakistan in 2015, hundreds of thousands of Blaoch people has been forcefully displaced from the home town along their CPEC route. 12,000 army personnel deployed on the security are basically paving the way for CPEC by massacring the CPEC in the local populous," said the BRP representative to UNHRC Abdul Nawaz Bugti.

Bugti said that the same human right violation is taking place at Dera Bugti region where Chinese and Pakistani companies are busy deep dwelling forest reserves, adding that the areas are being exploited and taken away and the local living is deprived of all the basic facilities.

Interrupting the Balochi representatives, the Pakistani delegations at the UNHRC said that it is an internal issue of the country and shouldn't be discussed at the council.

"We fail to understand that why my distinguish colleague from civil society is highlighting an internal issue. A bilateralmente between Pakistan and China which is for realisation of the right to development of our people and it has nothing to do with item 10. So, we request the vice-president to refrain the speaker from continuing in expanse his remark from the proceedings of the council's record," said the Pakistani delegations.

Sidelining the Pakistani delegations request to refrain the BRP representatives from speaking on CPEC issue, United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, China, Netherland allowed Bugti to complete their statement.

"The Baloch people have genuine concern of being genuinely deprived of their resources and being converted into minority into their own homeland through CPEC. But the state has responded with violence instead of addressing these issues," Bugti said.

Replying on the issue raised by the BRP, the Pakistani delegation said that the right of the civil society to speak during the council is fully supported adding it is absolutely essential to speak as per the substance which is being discussed in the council.

"Without realising what are relevant not irrelevant if we let continue to speak, we are putting at stake the form and substance of the council and we request you (UNHRC) once again that the speaker has not heed to what you have said and continued with statement and his remarks should be expanses from the proceeding of the council and he should be refrained speaking on this irrelevant subject which has nothing to do with the agenda item under consideration of this council," added the Pakistani delegation.
