The Pakistan Government has said its stalled peace dialogue with Taliban militants might start again over the next few days.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said the government is developing a comprehensive anti-terrorism policy and trying to gather a national consensus on holding talks with Tehreik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as part of that strategy, Dawn News reports.

Aziz also said that while the U.S. might not make a formal announcement for stopping drone strikes, the Pakistan government hoped such attacks would end soon.

Denying reports of Pakistan being consistently informed about U.S. drone strikes between 2007 and 2011, Aziz said retired President General Pervez Musharraf might have given a verbal understanding, but there was no written agreement.
