South African cricketer Jean-Paul Duminy has admitted that Pakistan's spin attack has been a great challenge for his side during the ongoing series between the two nations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Duminy, who has been one of South Africa's main stays in the limited over formats with 3,004 runs in 106 ODI games at an impressive average of 39.52, had however, reached scores of 20 and 25 before getting out in the recent ODI games against Pakistan.
According to www.PakPassion.net, although Duminy and Colin Ingram managed to weather the carnage caused by Pakistan's spin trio of Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez, however, Duminy admitted that Pakistan's spin attack has been a great challenge for them, especially in their favourable UAE conditions.
With Ajmal, Afridi and Hafeez having combined figures of 47.4 overs, 5 maidens, 13 wickets for 156 runs across the first two ODIs, Duminy insisted that it is no surprise that the Pakistani spinners have been so successful, adding that Ajmal's use of variation and his ability to keep a batsman on his feet makes him one of the best bowlers in the world.
The left-handed Duminy further said that the Pakistani spinners compliment each other well, with Hafeez and Afridi also posing a threat.
Although fast bowler Mohammad Irfan formed a potent opening partnership with Junaid Khan in the recently concluded Test series, Duminy however, said that it becomes easier to handle the giant pacer once he is faced a few times, although he termed the Pakistani pace attack as one of the best in the world.
