Lollywood actor/director Humayun Saeed's new movie 'Main Hoon Shahid Afridi' is set to release on Eid-ul Fitr this year.

The movie, which has been directed by Syed Ali Raza and is written by Vasay Chaudhry, is unlike any previous Pakistani film, in the sense that it is commercial but is an underdog story, which centres on cricket.

Saeed is aware that India and other countries have produced films on such subjects before but feels that his latest flick is purely Pakistani and is different from the kind of scripts Saeed has been known for.

He said that in general, it's quite a risky proposition to make films on sports, as they come across as dry, asserting that if it is done intelligently, it can turn out to be an exciting project, the Express Tribune reported.

Saeed said that everyone was tense yet interested in how we could make this film great, adding that the viewers would like this project too.

The film centers around a young boy dreaming of becoming the famous cricketer Shahid Afridi one day, however, the local club he plays for gets bankrupt, which changes everything.
