A Pakistani student organization from the Hindu community has formed a human shield outside a temple in Karachi to protect Hindus as they celebrate the festival of Holi.
According to the Express Tribune, Central Organiser NSF Khurram Ali said that they have to take the responsibility to protect minority community if the state fails to take the responsibility.
On Thursday, Holi celebrations at Sindh University were interrupted when some students celebrating the festival were reportedly roughed up by the varsity's private security guards with police having to be called in.
Associate Professor Amar Sindhu, who heads the philosophy department, said that a couple of boys, one of whom had had his shirt torn, came to her complaining about how they had been roughed up.
