Pakistan team's tour to Zimbabwe, which was scheduled to take place in August-September this year, has been postponed mutually by both Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC).
According to the Dawn, a PCB official said that Zimbabwe have involved the West Indies to hold a triangular series, in place of the bilateral series, which does not suit Pakistan in the wake of their qualifying for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
He further said that the decision to include the third team was clearly clashing with their interests, therefore, they proposed Zimbabwe a T20 triangular tournament but it was not accepted and as a result both cricket boards have decided to postpone the triangular event and any bilateral series for the next year.
Pakistan was scheduled to undertake a return tour to Zimbabwe for a bilateral limited-overs series featuring ODIs and T20s, after Zimbabwe became the first international team to visit the Islamic nation after 2009.
