Pakistan and the United States might propose transferring the Taliban 'political office' from Qatar to some other country as part of renewed efforts to revive a nascent but increasingly frustrating reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
According to an Express Tribune report, both Washington and Islamabad discussed the prospects of the Afghan reconciliation and how to break the deadlock in the Doha process.
At present, Islamabad and Washington don't seem to be very hopeful about the revival of the Doha process and are now looking at other options to jumpstart the peace talks with the Afghan Taliban.
Transferring the Taliban office from Qatar to some other country is being considered as one of many alternative options, but, no final decision has been taken so far.
