Defence expert Major General (retd.) S.R. Sinho on Thursday alleged that the Pakistan Army is indulging in a proxy war and asked the Centre to give a tough response to Islamabad so that the ongoing ceasefire violations from the other side of the border come to an end.
"This has become a normal routine of the Pakistan Army. Now, they are only doing a proxy war....they are only exploiting terrorism across the border by ceasefire violations," he told ANI.
Major General (retd.) Sinho said there is no hard response coming from the Indian side.
"And they (Pakistan) are indulging in this kind of habit everyday and I think they will continue to do so unless the Indian Government takes at the top level a decision to do something drastic so that Pakistan stops all these activities across the border otherwise these kinds of things will continue and our people will continue to suffer," he added.
The Pakistani troops today violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keri sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.
According to reports, the Indian security forces are retaliating to the unprovoked firing from the other side.
An Army jawan was killed in sniper attack by the Pakistani troops, who targeted forward posts in Poonch district earlier today.
