A 15-member Pakistani delegation arrived here on Wednesday for Director General-level talks between the border forces of the India and Pakistan.
The high level delegation of Pakistan headed by Director General (DG) of Pakistan Rangers, Major General Umar Farooq Burki, earlier in the day was received at the Wagah border in Punjab by senior paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) officials.
The delegations from Amritsar flew down to the national capital, where Burki was received by Director General of BSF, D K Pathak.
The DG-level talks between BSF and Pakistan Rangers will be headed by Pathak.
Senior officials from the Home Affairs Ministry, Narcotics Control Bureau and Survey of India are also part of the 23 Indian delegates participating in the meeting.
Key issues, including cross-border firing, infiltration, smuggling, are to be discussed during the talks.
The talks will also endeavour to focus on positive issues like different levels of communication, more simultaneous coordinated patrolling and other confidence building measures.
