Following David Letterman's recently announced retirement, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has reportedly said that she hopes it might start a new trend in Washington.
Speaking from Florida where Palin was fundraising for upstart Republican congressional candidate Lizbeth Benacquisto, Palin said she hoped Letterman's decision would rub off on Washington, Politco reported.
Palin said that politicians who have been in Washington, D.C., a bit too long, allow some new blood in there, some new energy, new ideas to get the country back on the right track.
Palin who had clashed with Letterman in 2009 after he told a joke about her daughter, for which he later apologized, said that maybe Letterman is going to start that trend- out with the old, in with the new.
